Jansz Estate is a family-owned vineyard instigated by
horticulturalist Mike Jansz. The Estate was established in 1995, in
Smiths Gully - located on the western fringe of the Yarra Valley,
Victoria. The attraction of this area to wine makers comes from the
natural combination of a cool yearly climate and the poor gravelly
clay soils that cover this sub-region. Jansz Estate has utilised
the opportunities provided by this unique environment, and its
plantings include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon
Blanc and Chardonnay.
Jansz Estate comprises 16 acres under vine, in gravelly, clay
loam soils. The vineyard is 250 meters above se a level, and takes
in 800mm of rainfall per annum.
Initially the vineyard sold its premium fruit to prominent Yarra
Valley Wineries. In 1999 the decision was made to retain some of
this fruit to produce the Estate’s own range, and in 2000 the
first vintage of Naked Range Wines was released. Today, Naked Range
Wines are sold in several countries around the world, with a focus
on Asian markets, to which the wine suits perfectly.

Biodynamic Certification
Best environmental practices have always been implemented in the
viticultural activities of the estate. We recognise the benefits of
Organic and Biodynamic principles and actively practice, support
and encourage others to work in harmony with the environment.
